Marian Rich brings a unique and varied background to her work as an executive search consultant, coach, facilitator/trainer, and comic educator.
Trained as an actress, improviser and theatrical director, Marian has spent over 30 years building innovative educational environments where people from all walks of life come together to grow and develop. A performance activist with a strong belief in the power of play, Marian creates positive and appreciative environments that unleash participants’ innate creativity.
Marian uses humor to create a safe and welcoming environment for people to step out of their comfort zones. She has designed and facilitated trainings for corporations, small/medium-sized businesses, hedge funds, non-profits and academic institutions.
An executive search consultant focused in the financial services industry for two decades, Marian uses her improvisational background to create conversations that assess talent, cultural fit, and leadership capabilities.
Trained by the East Side Institute, she practices social therapeutics, an approach to human development and social change that relates to people of all ages and life circumstances as social performers and creators of their lives. Her playful and philosophical sessions during the East Side Institute’s International Class residencies have impacted educators, scholars and activists from around the world who are looking for ways to infuse their work with the power of performance.
A longtime and passionate builder of the national nonprofit All Stars Project, Marian volunteers to teach improv to students of all ages from the poor communities of New York City at UX, the All Stars’ free university-style school.
Marian is an Artistic Associate at the All Stars’ Castillo Theatre on 42nd Street where she has spent over 30 years performing on and off stage. In addition to being an accomplished improviser, Marian has performed stand-up comedy and explored humanitarian clowning with Dr. Patch Adams.
A graduate of Sarah Lawrence College, she earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Liberal Arts.
